Autumn 2022 Trip Round Up

Autumn Term Trips
The children have enjoyed a number of school trips this term, closely aligned with their Year Group curriculums.
Year 1:
As part of Year One’s exciting topic, ‘What can we find in Chorlton?’, we will be took the children on a walk around Chorlton. During this walk, Teachers used a checklist of features of the local area to guide the children in their exploration of Chorlton.
Year 2:
This half term Year 2 attended an author event as part of Chorlton Arts Festival. They listened to Kristina Stephenson, author and illustrator, who also trained as a set and costume designer. She had a successful career in Theatre and Children’s TV and is best known for her children’s stories, in particular her series ‘Sir Charlie Stinky Socks’.
Year 3:
Year 3 visited the River Mersey as part of their Geography unit. They walked to the River, via Chorlton Ees where they carried out fieldwork. They picked out key features of the river to embed their learning.
Year 4:
Year 4 have continued with their swimming lessons this term, all working towards individual targets.
Year 5:
Year 5 visited George Street Chapel in Oldham as part of their History unit. They took part in activities relating to the Victorian period, all based indoors.
Year 6:
As a continuation of our involvement in last year’s Botany Bay project, Year 6 visited RHS Bridgewater this half term. The Botany Bay project focuses on the botanical and horticultural heritage of Britain.
