We are so proud of all of the growing opportunities our children have had across this year. Nursery have grown wild flowers, beans, sunflowers, carrots and even mint which they are going to use in their end of term mocktail mojitos! Reception have enjoyed planting potatoes, carrots, strawberries, sunflowers, thyme, lavender, snowdrops, hyacinths and daffodils and have loved looking after them and watching them grow. They’ve even had Unicorn, our local organic grocery shop, in for a visit to do a workshop!
Across the rest of the school there has been potato planting and growing, planting of beets and radishes, planting of bedding plants, science experiments with planting and even use of perspex containers to watch roots develop.
It’s been so lovely to see the children so involved in this and thank you to all the staff who have led these experiences.
