School Meals

School meals are charged at £2.70 per child per day, unless your child is eligible for Free School Meals. All children in Reception-Year 2 are entitled to Universal Free School Meals.

From September 2024, parents will be required to order all school dinners through School Spider. Dinners are £2.70 per child per day and are payable in two week blocks.

To order your child’s school dinners, please go to ‘Bookings and Payments’ in your School Spider app and then select ‘School Dinners’ for the relevant two week block of meals. The cut off to order school meals will be the Wednesday before the start of the two week block (eg. to order lunches for the weeks commencing 7th and 14th October, you will need to order the lunches by 2nd October at the latest).

If you do not pay for your child’s lunches (eg. if they’re in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 so on Universal Free School Meals, or your child is entitled to Free School Meals), you will still need to book your child’s lunches on School Spider, there just won’t be a fee to pay.

If you have missed the deadline to order lunches for a particular two-week block, you will need to email finance@oswaldroad.manchester.sch.uk

If you are unable to pay the amount for a two-week block in one go, please speak to a member of our Finance Team so that we can send you an invoice instead.

Please note that if you do not order your child’s lunches there will not be a meal provided for them and you will be required to provide them with a packed lunch.

Meal Availability

Please note that due to product availability and any unforeseen staff absences, we may occasionally need to change the meal offering. Please also note that Grab n’ Go is available 1 day per week to Year 6 students. This is offered as a meal option so we do not cater for the whole of Year 6 opting for Grab n’ Go.
